Our Airdrie ("we," "us," "the site," "the app") is an independent community directory for Airdrie, Alberta. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your choices. We are not affiliated with the City of Airdrie or the Airdrie Regional Chamber of Commerce.

What we collect

We collect different information depending on how you use the site:

• If you browse the directory, events, or resources: we don't collect any personal information from you. The business directory contains publicly available business information sourced from the City of Airdrie's licensing records and the Airdrie Regional Chamber of Commerce - not personal data about private individuals.
• If you submit a form (resident signup, business listing, missing-business report, sponsorship inquiry, event submission, or suggestion): we collect whatever you enter, typically a name, email address, and the content of your message. Forms are processed through FormSubmit.co, a third-party form-processing service, which forwards submissions to our email inbox. We do not store this information in a database beyond our email records at this time.
• Basic usage analytics: if enabled, we use Google Analytics to understand how visitors use the site (pages viewed, general location at a city level, device type). Google Analytics uses cookies and may collect your IP address as part of standard analytics processing. We do not use this data to identify individuals personally.
• Weather data: the daily weather shown on the site is fetched from a third-party weather service (Open-Meteo) for Airdrie's general location. No personal or device information is sent to that service on your behalf.

What we don't do

• We do not require an account, password, or login to use the site.
• We do not sell or rent your personal information to third parties.
• We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13.
• We do not process payments or store any financial or payment card information.

How we use information you submit

Information submitted through our forms is used solely to respond to your request - for example, to add your business to the directory, follow up on a sponsorship inquiry, or send the weekly community update if you signed up for it. We do not use it for any other purpose, and you can ask us to stop contacting you or delete your information at any time (see Contact below).

Third-party services

We rely on a small number of third-party services to operate the site:

• FormSubmit.co - processes form submissions and forwards them to us by email.
• Open-Meteo - provides the daily weather data shown on the site.
• Google Analytics (if enabled) - provides anonymized usage statistics.
• Google Translate - provides optional page translation if you choose a different language from the language selector.

Each of these services has its own privacy practices, which we encourage you to review on their respective websites.

Your choices

You can use almost all of the site - the directory, events, resources, weather, and search - without submitting any personal information at all. If you've submitted a form and want your information corrected or deleted, contact us using the email below and we'll action your request.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the site evolves - for example, if we add user accounts or a backend database in the future. We'll update the "last updated" date above when that happens. Material changes will be reflected on this page.
